Parents, I want to hear from you!

Parents, I want to hear from you! Even more so, you can help and encourage other parents through your comments here on this blog. Take just a minute to respond to one of these questions, both so I know you are out there, but more so to help make this a more interactive place for parents in the church.

  • How have you been encouraged lately as a parent?
  • What have you learned lately in or through parenting?
  • What have you read recently that has been helpful for parenting and life?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

  1. “Which means practically, pray like crazy for both of them. And keep showing both of them the gospel of undeserved, blood-bought grace.”
    – Great advice!!!

I see these two types in my two kids – Iain may say no, but then relent and do as he is asked. Meghan sometimes will say yes, but her little heart is saying no and she will conveniently find a way to get out of the task.

    Thanks,

    Pat

My son made a tremendous effort to sing in church last Sunday! He was loud and his heart was full of joy! For those who don’t know, he is 6 and has autism. I was so happy to hear his voice in that setting I had tears in my eyes. What a wonderful feeling to see and hear my own son doing his best to praise our Savior in song!

  3. We enjoyed hearing Braden sing too, Shane!

What have you learned lately through parenting?
I’m regularly reminded that I’m a sinner and in need of God’s grace.

I’ve also been thinking about the Piper quote since reading it on DGblog especially in light of MacArthur’s Tale of Two Sons. Its a little overwhelming for me but makes me pray more… which is probably the point.
