Jesus is A to Z!
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Rev. 22:13
On Christmas Day, as we wrap up our A to Z devotionals, we can look back and see that Jesus is everything from A to Z! That’s what alpha and omega are, the beginning and end of the Greek alphabet. Every spiritual truth that we can learn, from A to Z, is found in Jesus. He is everything! But he is also more than that.
I remember the days when I was a kid. Back then it was always important to be the first in line, the first to pick a treat or participate in a game. The first person to ever accomplish a task, like climbing the highest mountain or reaching the North Pole, is remembered and celebrated.
The last person in line is the one who finishes what everyone else started. When you go on a trip, your destination is where you stop and finish your trip, it’s the end.
It’s the same with Jesus. He’s not only everything in the alphabet, but he is also the beginning of everything, the first, and the end of everything, the last and the destination toward which we are going. Read how Isaiah says it (Is. 44:6), Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.”
Celebrate Christmas Day by celebrating the fact that Jesus is everything. Let all of him be enough for all of you today.
