The Bible teaches us to encourage others, because that pleases God and helps other people. Mary and Joseph, Zechariah and Elizabeth, the Wise Men and others had important tasks to do. They did not do them just to make themselves happy, but to serve other people.
This week, whether it is tonight or on another night that you choose, I want to encourage you to be creative by spending the evening making cards for another person or other people.
Who should you make a card for?
- A neighbor who is sick.
- A friend who is sad.
- A relative you have not seen in a long time.
- A missionary you support.
- Someone who needs to know God’s good news at Christmas.
You can think of someone. Or maybe each person in your family can make a card.
Use this as a fun night for family bonding. Use this as a night to talk about the people you know. Remember, the process is just as important as the product. It’s not as important to have a perfect card as it is to reach out to others and teach your children. Enjoy!
